Fun Times with a Sick Baby

Lucas has another ear infection - fun times! He gets so grumpy with them makes for a bery long day and a sore back from all the carrying him around. I am getting tired of being isolated from everyone so here is hoping he is better and I can join civilization again. The poor kids nose is on the verge of falling off it has been wiped so much.

Before the sickness really hit we did have a pretty good weekend

We had Sarah and her parents over for dinner on Friday night. Lucas had a good time, and Sarah was very entertaining.

We went out for the weekend to Piha and went for a hike with Sandra, Ryan and James. The babies were really good. Both slept for some of the hike which was nice. Lucas really liked the back pack this time, loved looking around and singing his heart out.
Lucas was pointing before we took the picture and then when the picture was taken he decided to make the boys look silly! Good work Lucas

Taking a nice rest at lunch time

Babies in a tree - Don't look down

Good times in the back pack with food all over his face

The hike was awesome beautiful views and good company.

I Love My Cars

Amost every day, Lucas can be found sliding around the floor with a car, tractor or truck. He usually makes his selection after breakfast and pretty much sticks with that vehicle for the rest of the day. Most of his vehicles make some sort of noise but some days he likes it a little more quiet and chooses he tractor or trailor, when he chooses them he has to make the noise brrummm brummm brummm that a tractor makes - makes a lot of drool all over the floor which causes a slipping hazard but he adapts.

Monday - Today I choose the trailor and tractor

Tuesday - Today we go for the truck

Wednesday - Always a favourite My Police car

Friday- The dog car always a big hit

"What I have to take a break from my cars to have some food?"

Around the Bays

Today we ran/walked round the bays. http://www.roundthebays.co.nz/ 8.4km from Downtown Auckland to St. Heliers. It was a good walk for me and Lucas and Peter thought it was a pretty good run. It was crazy there were so many people about 60,000 people actually. That is a lot of people in a small space. Meant a lot of dodging other Mom's with strollers and kids on bikes and slow walkers.

Lucas did a great job in his first race, he slept pretty much the entire way - my kind of race.
We had a bbq after with Bluebird, Peter's company. Lucas was pretty happy to get out of the buggy and crawl around on the grass. He was so happy to see Peter he couldnt stop crawling all over him.
Man was he thirsty after the race - I guess sleeping for an hour in the sun makes you extra thirsty.

Happy 1st Birthday

Wow, hard to believe that Lucas is already one. Time has gone by so fast.

We had a birthday weekend celebration.

The zoo was great, Lucas loved the chickens most of all that we saw in the parking lot. He really did love all the animals, he was hard to hold on to, he kept oohing and awhing at all the animals.

Chasing the chickens at the zoo, why there are chickens at the zoo is a mystery

Up close and personal with a giant tortoise

Fun times in the petting zoo
Crawling through the meerkat tunnels. Lucas wouldn't go on his own so we all went together
Checking out the animals with Aunt Elissa
He was so tired after the zoo so he had a big sleep.
When we got up we went for a swim and Lucas was loving that. When we got home he devoured his dinner, he was so hungry. After dinner he was lucky to have a special birthday cake that Sandra made. Lucky little guy. Lately he loves to quack when he sees a picture of ducks so he was quite excited to see this on his tray.

Look you can stick your fingers in it

But it tastes so good

On Sunday we went to Elissa and Sean's for lunch. We had yummy home made pizza's and Lucas had some ice cream. He really liked it. He also got to open up all his presents - lucky little man

No contact with the rest of the world

Our home phone line has been down since Saturday. After many many phone calls we are finally back online. Feels so isolated when the internet doesnt work - how did we ever survive before we had it?

Good times at the Jazz festival in Mission Bay. Lucas loved the music, people and especially all the dogs wandering around.

He loves to crawl around looking all over the place, he gets bored pretty easily so we built a fort. Took a little coaxing with Patrick to get him to crawl through but in the end he loved it, now he loves to crawl through our legs - over and over and over again.

One rainy saturday we took a trip to 'Lollipops', kind of like chucky cheese - sort of. He had a great time crawling through everything and watching the other children play.

Good times in the ball pit

"Look at me driving my own car"

Daddy and Lucas having some quality time together in the morning, don't forget Patrick though he needs to be included in almost everything

New letters to play with on the fridge. Lucas seemed to be really enjoying it I thought wow he is so smart and then a couple of seconds later.....

He thought it would be more fun to throw them on the floor

He doesnt like to go far away from me unless he can get out of the house and attempt the stairs - at the moment they are his favourite thing to do. Unfortunatley at the bottom of the steps is either concrete or a gravel driveway so he isn't allowed to play on them on his own, much to his displeasure, which he has no problem expressing
Oh no he has escaped!!!

Good thing Papa came over to build these gates or Lucas would have made it all the way down the street by now.
